Feeling a Little Blah Lately

8/24/2025

Picture

Have you been feeling a little blah lately?
Like you’re out of sorts, unmotivated, or even questioning if something’s wrong with you?

At first, I thought it was just me.  And then, over the past week, I started having this conversation with several friends. Normally, they’re action-oriented, get-things-done people. But right now? They’re stuck. Exhausted. Wondering if they’re depressed. And you know what I said?  ME TOO!

And then I realized what was going on...

We are going through what I call an “empath hangover.”

When you’re sensitive to the energy of the world, you absorb more than you realize. And lately, the collective joylessness—the stress, the heaviness, the uncertainty—has been quietly piling on. Add in oppressive heat and humidity, and it’s no wonder so many of us feel weighed down, confused, and joyless.

So if this sounds familiar, here’s the good news: you’re not broken, and there’s nothing “wrong” with you. You just need to shake off what isn’t yours. Here are a few simple ways to start shifting that energy and reclaiming your spark:

✨ Move it out. Dance around the house. Shake your body like a wet dog. Take a short walk outside, barefoot if you can, and let the Earth absorb the heaviness.

✨ Rebel with joy. Do one small, unexpected thing that makes you smile—eat dessert first, wear something bold, sing loudly in the car. Tiny rebellions remind your spirit what joy feels like.

✨ Cleanse your energy. Take a salt bath or shower and imagine the water rinsing away everything you’ve been carrying that isn’t yours. Breathe in golden light, and exhale the blah.

✨ Find one beautiful thing. Pause and notice a flower, the shape of clouds, or even the way sunlight filters through a window. Let yourself soak in beauty—it’s grounding medicine.

✨ Flip the script. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” try asking, “What would bring me one spark of joy right now?”

Because here’s the truth: the joylessness you’ve been feeling isn’t you. It’s just an empath hangover. And the more you remember that, the more you can gently shake it off and reconnect to your own vibrant energy.

So, if you’re feeling heavy, tired, or confused, try one (or all!) of the ideas above. And see how quickly the fog starts to lift. You may be surprised how much lighter you feel.

What’s one small, joyful thing you can do today to remind yourself that the heaviness isn’t yours to carry?

Stop Saving Joy For Later

8/17/2025

Picture
This morning, I had a cinnamon roll with my latte and let me tell you—life felt pretty sweet. Literally. It got me thinking about how often we label these moments as treats or extras, when maybe they’re actually the things that help us savor life the most.

Somewhere along the way, we were taught to save our “bonus” joys for weekends, vacations, or special occasions. But what if we flipped that script? What if we allowed ourselves a little indulgence every day—not as a guilty pleasure, but as a gentle reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just managed?

For me, it’s the daily ritual of a latte. For you, it might be fresh flowers on your desk, five quiet minutes outside, a favorite song turned all the way up, or wearing your coziest socks just because.

These aren’t frivolous. They’re fuel. They shift our energy. They whisper...

You’re allowed to enjoy this moment right now, without waiting for a special reason.

So, let’s stop saving joy for later. Let’s sprinkle it into today, and tomorrow, and every day after that.

Because life isn’t just about the big milestones—it’s about the cinnamon rolls, the lattes, and the little joys that make every day worth celebrating.

What’s one little joy you can give yourself today—something that turns an ordinary moment into a bonus day?

When Your Intuition Feels “On Pause”

8/10/2025

Picture
After I published my book in May, my intuition went radio silent. I even have a list of next steps...
  • Book Launch Party,
  • 5 Day Challenge,
  • In-person Events,
  • Mentoring Program,
  • etc.

However, I can't seem to move forward.  And then I saw a Prada Summer Ad and the images resonated with how I feel...

I'm standing in the middle of a calm ocean in a small boat with my magical bag of tools that doesn't work!

  • I tried to sit down and journal and...nothing.
  • I tried to meditate, and all I could think about was work.
  • I pull a card, and it feels about as insightful as a grocery list.

And then the panic sets in...

Oh no.  Is my intuition broken? Did I lose it?

So, for the past 2 weeks, I decided to mix things up.
  • Instead of journaling my emotions, I signed up for a free 5-day wild writing challenge.
  • Instead of watching TV at 3 am when I can't sleep, I started meditating with the Findhorn Foundation.
  • Instead of pulling cards, I started to create Soul Collages again.

And you know what I discovered...I'm not broken. I'm not failing.  I'm just changing.
And here’s the thing no one tells you about intuition...

Your intuition grows with you.

The way you connected to it six months ago might not work the same way now. That’s not a problem — that’s evolution. You’ve shifted, your energy has shifted, and now your inner guidance system is asking you to update the way you tune in.
Think of it like updating the software on your phone. The old shortcuts won’t always work on the new system, so you have to learn a few fresh ones.
So, what do you do when your “intuition app” seems glitchy? You change the rules you made for yourself.

A few ways to mix it up:
  • Switch your medium. If you usually journal, try automatic writing — set a timer for 10 minutes and write whatever comes without editing or overthinking.
  • Change your body-mind connection. If you’ve been doing slow restorative yoga, try a more energizing flow. Or, if you’ve been pushing hard, slow down with yin or restorative.
  • Play with meditation styles. If you always use guided meditations, try silent breathwork, a sound bath, or even a walking meditation in nature.
  • Change your setting. Swap your meditation corner for a park bench, your kitchen table for a cozy café, or your bedroom for a sunny spot in the living room.
When your usual way of connecting to your intuition feels flat, it’s often a sign you’re ready for a new approach. Your inner voice hasn’t left you — it’s just speaking a new language, and you’re in the process of learning it.

So instead of worrying that you’ve “lost” your intuition, try seeing it as an invitation. An invitation to explore, experiment, and play until you find the thing that makes you light up again.

Because your intuition isn’t gone. It’s growing right alongside you.

Pay Attention To Your Intuition
Embrace Your Inner Power Oracle Deck

Intuition. Clarity. Inner Wisdom. Inspiration.

The Message:  You used to swear by it. The morning pages. The yoga routine.  That podcast that always snapped you out of a spiral. And now? Meh. Maybe it's time to loosen the "intuition routine".

Break one small rule you made for yourself: skip the journaling, take a walk without your usual podcast, light a different candle.

You’re not failing — you’re just changing. Let the old routines rest. See what else wants to show up.

Reflection Questions:
  • What is your intuition telling you today?
  • Are you ignoring your intuition and instead following the logical rules set by the pack?
  • What if you trusted your intuition instead?

The Moment I Realized I Wasn't the Problem

8/3/2025

Picture
Ever find yourself unexpectedly triggered by someone’s comment, glance, or silence?

It happened to me recently. Something small — maybe even unintentional — flipped a switch inside me. I suddenly felt like I was back in that old familiar place:

💥 Not good enough.
💥 Too different to belong.
💥 Being judged for not fitting in.

Sound familiar?

These triggers always seem to cut deeper than the moment itself. That’s because they tap into an old story — one we’ve outgrown but haven't fully let go of.

And here’s the thing: I could’ve stayed in that space, letting the disappointment simmer. I could’ve internalized it as rejection.

But instead…

I took a MOXIE stand.

I paused. I got curious about the story behind the trigger. I allowed myself to feel the disappointment, the hurt — even the betrayal — without collapsing into it. Then I remembered:

Rejection is often redirection.

It’s not about me being wrong. It’s about me being true to myself — and that doesn’t always fit into the mold others expect.

That’s when something shifted. I realized this wasn’t a setback. It was a signal. A sacred invitation to deepen my self-trust and keep blazing my own trail.

So the next time you feel the sting of judgment or exclusion, pause. Ask yourself:..

✨ What old belief is this touching?
✨ Is it still serving me?
✨ What MOXIE stand am I ready to take today?

Because often, the trigger isn’t the problem — it’s the wake-up call.

And sometimes, the moment you feel most rejected is the moment you finally reclaim your power.

With moxie and heart,
Robin
