“Come out to the coast.  We'll get together, have a few laughs.”
John McClane - Die Hard

I hate to break the news, but it's officially...

Holiday Movie Season!

WHAT!?!?!??!  That is just crazy talk.  And if you have been on Netflix at all, it is officially holiday movie season.  So what is your favorite holiday movie?  My friend and I came up with two off the beaten path holiday movies...

Die Hard and Lethal Weapon

Yes...Die Hard and Lethal Weapon are Christmas/Holiday Movies.  You might ask yourself, how can that be?  Don't believe me, here is an article that sums it up for you.....Die Hard/Lethal Weapon Are Christmas Movies

HOLIDAY MOVIES CAN SHOW US OUR GIFTS

"At their hearts, Die Hard and Lethal Weapon happen to be movies that show characters in a tough spot during the holidays. Through a journey of the soul, and some action packed adventure, they eventually discover that their personal baggage doesn’t matter. What matters is that they have friends and family they cherish, and through the magic of Christmas (and some gunfire) they learn this lesson just in time to celebrate with the ones they’re closest to."
~if-die-hard-is-a-christmas-movie-that-means-lethal-weapon-is-too

Let's face it - we have have all been there...RIGHT!!!  But hopefully without the gun fire!  And what gifts do our main characters have:

  • Bruce WIllis as John McClane - selfless devotion to duty and family;
  • Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs - a modern day George Baily who shows us that every has the capability to change and transform their perspective on life;
  • Danny Glover as Roger Murtaugh - the modern day Clarence filled with selfless devotion to duty and family;

THINGS TO PONDER
  • What are your go to holiday movies?
  • How do these movies inspire you?
  • What holiday movies to you despise?
  • How do these movies despise you?

Please send me an email or post on Facebook, as I would love to hear your responses.  And if you would like to discover your own inner magic through holiday movies, I have 2 upcoming workshops - in-person and via zoom.  Details below.

Feeling Squirrely?

The squirrel in me recognizes the squirrel in you!
~Robin Rosenstiel

Have you been having a hard time staying focused this month?

If so, you are not alone.  It's in the air.  I'm been feely squirrely myself for a few weeks now.  At first I resisted the energy and forced myself to sit down and stick to a traditional work schedule.  The result...I got nothing accomplished other than a headache!  So I finally gave into the squirrel energy and instead thought I would see what squirrel energy had to teach me.  It went like this...
  • 15 minutes email,
  • 20 minutes cleaning,
  • 10 minutes exercise,
  • 25 minute conference call,
  • 45 minutes creating a powerpoint,
  • 10 minutes exercise,
  • 20 minute conference call,
  • 50 minutes creating a presentation,
  • etc.

I started each day with a list of "to do's" and instead of sticking to a rigid strict fixed schedule, I just went with the flow.  If I were to show my "time spent" to a productivity expert, they would tell me that I wasn't using my time wisely and that I was unproductive.  But in reality, by the end of the day, I accomplished more in a shorter period of time by embracing squirrel energy vs. resisting squirrel energy.

So what is the medicine of squirrel energy...

embrace your own "squirrel" work rhythm vs. following the status quo!
