This past Saturday I started to pull out my Christmas decorations. I got as far as 2 decorations and stopped:
Why just 2 decorations? Both of these decorations made me giggle and my heart happy. I felt my Christmas decoration work was done for the day. And then I took a step back and asked myself 3 questions:
What does this decoration symbolize to me?
Does this decoration reflect who I am now or who I want to be in the future?
Does this decoration open me up to possibilities?
The sparkly Christmas tree reminds me to take one day at a time and to stay focused on the magic of the holiday season vs. getting caught up in the drama. The sparkly snow globe reminds me that I bring sparkly calmness in the midst of chaos, even during the holiday season.

Friends have been reaching out to me and asking...
Are you having Thanksgiving?
Are you having an event of Black Friday?
Are you having Freindsgiving?
And my answer.....
I'm on a Holiday Reboot!
The past few years have made me realize that I need to take a step back and reconnect to what the holidays mean to me. The holiday gatherings for the past two seasons (or lack of due to COVID) made me realize that my values have changed and as a result I need to reflect on how I want to celebrate the holidays going forward vs. reverting back to "pre-covid holidays traditions".
It's time for me to reconnect to the magic of the holiday season.
And how do I reconnect to the magic of the holiday season? I'm starting with how I want to feel during the holiday season. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the old holiday stories filled with stress, anxiety, and general circus and monkey chaos. So, I started to watch holiday movies and stumbled across the 1949 movie Come to the Stable. It tells the true story of 2 French nuns who arrive at a small town with the dream of building a children's hospital. This story is not a Christmas move but it embodies the spirit of the holiday season that I want to embrace...
Faith, Love, Peace, Joy, Community
As I move forward with this holiday season, every holiday tradition (from decorating, to putting up lights, to buying gifts, and attending social events) will be met with the questions "Why am I doing this?" Am I doing this because it fills me with faith, love, peace, joy, or community? Or am I doing it because it is expected of me?
If you are looking to connect to peace this week, please listen to my mini sound bath below. I selected this random word before I watched the movie. How magical is that?

SHAMANIC REIKI CARD OF THE WEEK
When out of balance - you look outside of yourself for joy and contentment. You think joy is found in having and doing, rather than in being.
When in balance, there is comfort in yourself and in your life. You are fluid, moving easily around and through the events and relationship of life. Balanced water is accepting of situations.
What does the Water element evoke for you and how do you see and experience it play out within and all around you?
- Is it true is it not?
- What are the facts?
- What is the real story?
$1 Billion+ Powerball
Yup, you heard me. The Powerball number jumped out at me and suddenly I found my thought process to become crystal clear. It was time to...
There is a lot of opportunity to dream with the potential of $1 Billion+ Dollars! First thing I did was race out of the house on Monday and purchase a Powerball ticket and then the dreaming began. I made my initial list: Where would I live? I still would live in Kent where I am even though the construction across the street has been annoying. There is a certain energy to Kent - a mix of Northern Exposure and Yellowstone that inspires me to stay there. My Monday list:
- Speed up the conversion of the Kent House,
- Finish the projects at the Kent Emporium,
- Build a small house on my 20 acres near Loran, Illinois (15 minutes down the road),
- Travel to every little town in Vermont (251 Club),
- Buy a truck (as the small house would be on a gravel road - wait - I could have the road paved...hmmmm),
- Continue with building my practice in Kent - sounds baths, shamanic reiki workshop offerings, plus other programs to support the community.
When I awoke on Tuesday the first thing that popped into my head was - "If I won - would I select the annuity or the cash option?" This odd question led me to focus on establishing a strong foundation for my new future:
- Number of days I have before notifying the Lottery Board (check),
- Financial Advisor (check),
- Lawyer (check),
- Short-term plan (check),
- Annuity or Cash Payout (still undecided)
On Wednesday, I expanded my list to local organizations that I would donate to:
On Thursday, I decided to expand my business portfolio and purchase the cheese plant across the street and convert it into artisan cheese manufacturing facility that infuses healing plant music into their products (very cutting edge).
By Friday, I decided to take a step back and I realized that..
My heart knows what is best for me!
The external circumstances of the doom and gloom world swirling around me was just a distraction tactic to drain my energy and focus away from what really matters and instead focus on fear. By focusing on my big dream, I broke the global "fear" spell and took back my power to dream big and go beyond the current chaos. The big lesson I learned from this past week...
Don't get caught up in the chaos.
If you are looking for some perspective, this chaos is similar to remodeling a kitchen. You have to destroy the old kitchen before you lay the foundation for the new kitchen (trust me I've been there!!!). If you get caught up in the chaos (fear, anger, I'm right/you're wrong), you are energizing what you don't want. Now is the time to put your focus and your energy on the kind of future you want to create...
- loving community
- authentic friendships
- safe neighborhoods
- supportive gatherings
- joyful employment
It's time to dream in a more beautiful world!
