This past Saturday I started to pull out my Christmas decorations. I got as far as 2 decorations and stopped:
Why just 2 decorations? Both of these decorations made me giggle and my heart happy. I felt my Christmas decoration work was done for the day. And then I took a step back and asked myself 3 questions: What does this decoration symbolize to me? Does this decoration reflect who I am now or who I want to be in the future? Does this decoration open me up to possibilities? The sparkly Christmas tree reminds me to take one day at a time and to stay focused on the magic of the holiday season vs. getting caught up in the drama. The sparkly snow globe reminds me that I bring sparkly calmness in the midst of chaos, even during the holiday season. Send me an email or comment on Facebook... Which holiday decoration is your favorite and why? Get ready to dance and SPARKLE to Shake Your Groove ThingFriends have been reaching out to me and asking... Are you having Thanksgiving? Are you having an event of Black Friday? Are you having Freindsgiving? And my answer..... I'm on a Holiday Reboot! The past few years have made me realize that I need to take a step back and reconnect to what the holidays mean to me. The holiday gatherings for the past two seasons (or lack of due to COVID) made me realize that my values have changed and as a result I need to reflect on how I want to celebrate the holidays going forward vs. reverting back to "pre-covid holidays traditions". It's time for me to reconnect to the magic of the holiday season. And how do I reconnect to the magic of the holiday season? I'm starting with how I want to feel during the holiday season. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the old holiday stories filled with stress, anxiety, and general circus and monkey chaos. So, I started to watch holiday movies and stumbled across the 1949 movie Come to the Stable. It tells the true story of 2 French nuns who arrive at a small town with the dream of building a children's hospital. This story is not a Christmas move but it embodies the spirit of the holiday season that I want to embrace... Faith, Love, Peace, Joy, Community As I move forward with this holiday season, every holiday tradition (from decorating, to putting up lights, to buying gifts, and attending social events) will be met with the questions "Why am I doing this?" Am I doing this because it fills me with faith, love, peace, joy, or community? Or am I doing it because it is expected of me? If you are looking to connect to peace this week, please listen to my mini sound bath below. I selected this random word before I watched the movie. How magical is that? I work with people who are ready to stop playing small and start living boldly. Whether it’s building confidence, bouncing back from challenges, or embracing their creative spark, I empower them to rediscover their moxie and create a life that’s unapologetically their own.
