You are not your inner critic. I repeat, you are not your inner critic!
This week, as I've been working on writing my book and creating my card deck, my inner critic has been hanging out with me. And by inner critic, I mean the nagging loud voice that continually fills my head with persistent negative self-talk that keeps me stuck and questioning myself. My inner critic tells me things like...
To be honest with you, the nagging voice was really getting annoying. So I decided to stop ignoring it and instead I decided to engage it and ask it a few questions:
You need to fit in and be like everyone else!
I don't know about you, but that is the story of my life! People always telling me that I need to keep quiet so that I can fit in. So what did I do?
I thanked my inner critic for pointing out one of my gifts...
being courageous and brave so that I can march to my own drum beat!
I also decided to create a card for my card deck to remind me what my inner critic looks like and what to do when it starts hanging out with me.
What does your inner critic look like?
What stories does your inner critic tell you?
What is the golden nugget?
