Years ago, I read the book "Big Magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert. In the book she spoke about not being inspired to write, so she decided to put her writing aside and started gardening. Out of this process of gardening, she learned about different plants which inspired her to write her next book called "The Signature of All Things: A Novel". What I love about the book "Big Magic" is that she encourages us to follow our own curiosities and obsessions in order to uncover the "strange jewels" that are hidden within each of us. At the end of May, I purchased the house next to me. And with this purchase, my summer obsession of pulling weeds and planting plants began. People have asked me "What are you going to do with the house?" My answer is "This year I'm going to focus on getting the yard under control as the yard had been neglected for years". So, this is what I've been doing this summer...pulling weeds and planting plants. And through this crazy obsession, a new musical instrument has appeared...PlantWave. A device that converts a plants' electrical variations into music. How cool is that!! This weeks' mini sound bath includes the soothing sound of Comfrey. So, listen to the video below to learn a little more about the value of the Comfrey plant and then listen to it sing. Let me know what you think! What is your crazy obsession this summer?
