FINDING JOY IN THE JOURNEY

Your weekly dose of inspiration, practical tools, and honest reflections for living a bold, moxie-filled life.

Last weekend, something powerful happened.
A room full of thoughtful, capable, big-hearted people walked in carrying the same thing…

overwhelm!

Too many ideas.
Too many “shoulds.”
Too much pressure to figure it all out.

And yet, by the end of our time together, something shifted.

Not because we solved everything.
Not because we created perfect plans.
But because each person found...

one simple step.

One clear next move.
One aligned action.
One decision that felt light instead of heavy.
And in that moment, the overwhelm began to dissolve.

Here’s what I want you to know:

Overwhelm isn’t a sign that something is wrong.

It’s a sign that your energy is scattered across too many possibilities.

It’s not that you don’t know what to do.
It’s that your mind is trying to hold everything at once.

And clarity?

Clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from choosing less and choosing it fully.

So let me ask you something:

What is one thing, just one that, if you moved it forward,
would shift your energy right now?

Not ten things.
Not the whole plan.
Just one.

Because that’s where momentum begins. After witnessing the shifts that happened in person, I knew one thing for certain:

This isn’t something that should stay in one room.

So, I’m opening up an online experience where you can...
walk through this same process...
moving from overwhelm → clarity → aligned action.

A space to:
✨ Quiet the noise
✨ Reconnect with what actually matters
✨ Identify your next step (not all the steps)
✨ Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and in motion

If you’ve been feeling stuck, scattered, or unsure where to begin…
This is your Invitation:  An Evening TO...Re-Ignite Your Moxie
You don’t need a full roadmap right now.
You just need your next step.
And I would love to help you find it.

The Curious Case of the Black Bat Flower

3/8/2026

Picture
I’ve been wrestling with my own “yeah but” lately.

You know the voice. The one that shows up right after a great idea.

Yeah, but… will people want that?
Yeah, but… what if it’s not the right direction?
Yeah, but… maybe I should wait.

I’ve been circling the idea of creating an Intuitive Nature Reiki program, and while part of me felt excited… another part kept whispering “yeah, but.”

Then something interesting happened. A plant catalogue showed up in the mail this week. On the back cover was the most unusual flower I’ve ever seen...

Black Bat Flower!

And without hesitation I said out loud...

I want to grow this!

That moment stopped me in my tracks because I realized something...

Every meaningful turn in my life has started exactly like that.

Years ago, I watched a random PBS program about saffron. That tiny spark of curiosity led me to hunt down saffron bulbs from a medicinal herb company.
  • Which opened the door to learning about growing medicinal herbs.
  • Which led to studying herbology.
  • Which one day led me to discovering opium poppies in a seed catalogue and learning about their unusual history in the United States.
  • Which eventually opened the door to sacred plants.
  • Which led me all the way to South America to meet shamans.
  • Which led me to growing San Pedro
  • And eventually...creating plant music.

Looking back, none of those things were part of a master plan. They all began the same way...

A tiny moment of curiosity.

That’s when I realized something about the “yeah but.” The “yeah but” tries to stop us before curiosity can lead somewhere magical.
But life doesn’t usually reveal the full roadmap in advance.

It reveals the next intriguing thread.

So now I’m curious. Where might this strange and beautiful black bat flower lead? Over the years I’ve learned that these moments, the ones that make you pause and say “that’s interesting…” , are often the beginning of something much bigger.

They’re invitations to follow what I call "the MOXIE thread".

In my upcoming MOXIE Book Launch Workshop, we’ll explore how to recognize and trust these kinds of signals in your own life. Because the path to your next bold move rarely appears as a perfectly organized plan. More often it begins with something small:
  • a curious idea
  • a strange coincidence
  • a conversation
  • a moment that makes you say...“Huh… that’s interesting.”

The magic happens when you follow it.

So now I’m curious…

What’s the “black bat flower” in your life right now?

What small spark of curiosity keeps whispering to you, even when the “yeah but” tries to interrupt?

ORACLE CARD OF THE WEEK

Curiosity. Mystery. Synchronicity.
Following the Thread of Intuition.

The Message:

The Bat Flower appears when it is time to follow your curiosity. Life rarely reveals the full map at once. Instead, it offers small invitations—an idea, a fascination, or something unexpected that captures your attention. The mind may respond with “yeah but,” yet the heart feels the pull of possibility. Bat Flower Medicine encourages you to explore the thread anyway. Curiosity is often the doorway to your next bold move.

Reflection Questions:
  • What is currently sparking my curiosity, even if it doesn’t make logical sense yet?
  • Where in my life am I feeling the urge to explore something new?
  • What idea keeps returning to me that I haven’t fully explored?
  • If I followed my curiosity without worrying about the outcome, what might I try next?
  • What small step can you take today that brings you joy?

Yeah, But...

This week felt a little like Groundhog Day.

Same alarm.
Same routine.
Same conversations.
Same to-do list.
Nothing terrible. Nothing dramatic.
Just… predictable.

And somewhere between the coffee and the commute, I felt it...that subtle frustration. The kind that doesn’t shout. It sighs.

Have you ever noticed that feeling?

The one that whispers...
There has to be more than this!

Not more hustle.
Not more chaos.
Just… more aliveness.

And then, almost on cue, a new idea floated in.

A different direction.
A creative spark.
A thought that felt expansive instead of heavy.
For a moment, I felt inspired.

And then the chorus began.
Yeah, but…

Yeah, but I don’t have time.
Yeah, but I don’t have the money.
Yeah, but I’ll do that when things calm down.
Yeah, but the world feels too unstable right now.
Yeah, but I should just be grateful for what I have.

The “Yeah, but…” voice is persuasive. Logical. Responsible. It sounds practical.

But if I’m being honest, it’s usually fear in a well-tailored suit.
It’s the part of us that wants certainty before movement.
Proof before risk.
Guarantees before change.

And yet — the desire doesn’t go away.

The longing for something new.
The pull toward a different path.
The quiet knowing that you’re meant to expand.

So, this week, instead of arguing with my “Yeah, but…” I tried something different. I listened and underneath each excuse was a question:
  • Am I capable?
  • Will I be supported?
  • What if I fail?
  • What if I outgrow who I’ve been?

That changed everything. Because when fear is seen, it softens. And when it softens, there’s room for a new response.

Maybe it’s not “Yeah, but…”
Maybe it’s “Yes… and.”

Yes...and...
  • Yes, I don’t have unlimited time — and I can take one small step.
  • Yes, money matters — and I can begin where I am.
  • Yes, the world feels uncertain — and my aliveness still matters.
  • Yes, it’s uncomfortable — and growth often is.

We don’t break free from stuckness by waiting for perfect conditions. We break free by choosing, even gently, in the direction of what feels true. Not a leap off a cliff. Just a pivot. Just a shift. Just one aligned move that says, “I hear you, fear… but I’m going anyway.”

If this week has felt repetitive…
If you’ve caught yourself saying “Yeah, but…” more than once…

Maybe it’s not a sign to stay put.
Maybe it’s an invitation.

Not to blow up your life. Not to make reckless decisions. But to notice where you’ve been negotiating with your own expansion.

And to ask yourself:
What small, brave choice is waiting underneath my “Yeah, but…”?

You might be more ready than you think.
With warmth,
Robin ✨

ORACLE CARD OF THE WEEK

Threshold of Courage & Choice

The Message:

You are not stuck.
You are standing at the edge of something new.
The resistance you feel is not failure, it is initiation.
The mind is asking for safety.
The soul is asking for movement.

Reflection Questions:

  • What desire is my “Yeah, but…” protecting me from pursuing?
  • If fear wasn’t driving this response, what would I choose?
  • What is one small “Yes… and” I can take today?

If Everything Feels Fast, Read This

2/20/2026

Picture
This past week felt fast.

Not inspired-fast.
Not aligned-fast.
Just… accelerated.

The kind of fast that makes your nervous system buzz.
The kind of fast that convinces you that everything is urgent.

The kind of fast that feels productive on the outside and unsustainable on the inside.

And I caught myself. Because here’s what I know, and maybe you need to hear this too:
  • Speed is not the same as progress.
  • Urgency is not the same as importance.
  • Busy is not the same as bold.

That’s when a picture of a snail showed up in my social media feed.  Seeing that picture of a snail reminded me that....
  • It carries its home.
  • It stays close to the earth.
  • It moves steadily and without frenzy.

The snail does not panic when the world moves quickly but still moves forward.

We have been taught that boldness looks loud.
That momentum looks fast.
That success looks accelerated.

But real moxie?
Real power?
Real sustainability?

It looks like grounded movement. It looks like choosing your pace instead of reacting to someone else’s.

So, if everything feels like it’s spinning right now, here’s how to embody snail medicine through the SHINE framework:

S — Slow the Stimulus
Before you respond to the emails, the texts, the expectations...PAUSE.
Not everything that feels urgent is important.
Create space between stimulus and response.
Even 60 intentional seconds can shift your entire nervous system.

H — Honor Your Natural Rhythm
You are not designed to operate at someone else’s pace.
Notice when you are speeding up to keep up.
Bold leadership begins when you choose your own cadence.

I — Intentionally Choose the Next Step
Shrink the horizon.
Instead of solving everything, ask: What is the next aligned move?
The snail does not leap — it advances deliberately.

N — Notice Where You Are Reacting
Where are you rushing out of pressure instead of purpose?
Awareness is power.
When you notice the frenzy, you reclaim control.

E — Embody Grounded Action
Take one thoughtful step.
Not five frantic ones.
Steady action compounds.
Sustainable momentum is built in calm, consistent moves.

Here’s the truth:
  • Slow does not mean stuck.
  • Steady does not mean small.
  • Grounded does not mean passive.

The snail still reaches its destination.
It just refuses to abandon itself in the process.
And maybe that is the boldest thing you can do right now.

Love,
Robin

ORACLE CARD OF THE WEEK

Sacred Pace. Sustainable Momentum.

The Message:
Snail arrives when life feels accelerated.
When everything seems urgent.
When the pressure to keep up begins to disconnect you from yourself.

Snail reminds you...You do not have to rush to arrive.

Reflection Questions:
  • Where am I moving from urgency instead of intention?
  • What is the next aligned step and not the next ten?
  • How can I protect my energy without apology?
  • What would shift if I honored my natural rhythm?

Path A or Path B?

2/14/2026

Picture
Last week, I was standing in the airport watching the departure board.

My flight to Minneapolis was on time.
But the flight before mine?
Delayed.
Destination: Cayman Islands.

And for a brief moment… I paused.
I had my passport in my bag.
I could have walked to the counter.
I could have purchased a ticket.
I could have chosen differently.

Instead of the familiar.
Instead of the expected.
Instead of the responsible next step.

I stood there longer than I care to admit.
Not because I was actually going to reroute my entire life that afternoon.
But because I realized something.

Life is constantly offering us Path A or Path B.

Path A:
The reliable route.
The responsible choice.
The plan we told everyone about.
The one that makes sense.

Path B:
The whisper.
The pull.
The unexpected opening.
The one that doesn’t come with guarantees.

Most of us are beautifully conditioned to choose Path A.

It’s safer.
Predictable.
Socially approved.

Path B?
It asks for courage.
Trust.
A willingness to look a little irrational.

But here’s what I kept thinking as I waited to board...

The decision isn’t always about geography.

It’s about alignment.
Sometimes Path A is absolutely right.
Sometimes stability is sacred.

But sometimes we are choosing Path A out of habit.

Out of fear — not truth.
Out of “I should” instead of “I want.”
What struck me most in that airport moment was this:
The option existed.
And how often in life do options exist…
but we don’t even let ourselves consider them?

We don’t pause long enough to ask:
Is this the path I’m choosing?
Or the path I defaulted to?

There is no shame in either path.
But there is power in choosing consciously.

So, this week, I leave you with this...What path is calling you?

Not the one that makes the most sense on paper.
Not the one that earns applause.
Not the one that keeps everything comfortable.
But the one that feels quietly alive.
The one that makes your heart lean forward.
You don’t have to book the flight today.
But you can acknowledge the destination.
And sometimes, that’s where everything begins.

With moxie,
Robin 💛

If you’ve been standing at your own metaphorical departure board lately… pausing, reconsidering, wondering if there’s another path available to you — that is exactly why I created MOXIE.

This book, and the upcoming workshop, aren’t about reckless leaps. They’re about conscious choice. About trusting your inner compass. About choosing the path that feels like becoming. And if something in you is stirring right now, consider this your invitation.
